SUMMARY:A Gardening Christmas - 2025
DESCRIPTION:The Red Hill Gardening Society will be celebrating with a Christmas Morning Tea at 10 am this Friday\, 28 November\, in the garden of Lee Carmody.  The address is 9 Tubbarubba Road\, Merricks North and the name on the gate is “Sheoaks”.  This replaces our normal monthly meeting and will be an opportunity to meet up with old friends and get to know some of our newer members. \nParking is available in the paddock and will be signposted.  Those with a disability can park at the house where there is space for six cars. There won’t be a Trading Table at this get together but there will be a raffle. \nPlease BYO cup for morning tea or coffee and a small plate of Christmassy fare to share. \nWe hope you can come and look forward telling you some of the RHGS plans for 2026 and hearing your suggestions and preferences for future garden related activities. \nThe Committee \nRed Hill Gardening Society

DESCRIPTION:Breeding like rabbits ….\nCommunity meeting.\nThe Peninsula is overrun by rabbits at the moment and it has never previously been this bad.  It does not affect everyone\, some areas are suffering badly and others are not.  It is however a community problem and cannot be controlled property by property and so the Red Hill Gardening Society has organised for a speaker from Agriculture Victoria to speak at 11 am on 1 May 2026 at the Red Hill Hall. This is open to anyone in the community with an interest.\n\nAnnie Lamb\, the Leading Biosecurity Officer and David Scott the Engagement Officer for invasive plants in the South East will be coming to meet with us and will speak about bringing together government\, the Shire and residents to co-ordinate a response.\n\n\nLearn about:\n• Building the community’s capacity to respond to pests\n• Legislation\n• Integrated control methods\n• Rabbit biology and behaviour\n\nPlease email your intention to attend to rhgs@rhgs.com.au by April 27
